The Tilden Arts Center and the Performing Arts Program at Cape Cod Community College (4Cs) will bring “Bright Star,” a 2016 Tony Nominee for Best Musical, to the Tilden Arts Center on their West Barnstable campus starting April 11. Created by comedy legend and acclaimed banjoist Steve Martin and Grammy winner Edie Brickell, “Bright Star” is a bluegrass musical that tells the life of literary editor Alice Murphy.

The Cape Cod Community College Alumni Network is seeking nominations for the 2024 Alumni of the Year award. This prestigious award will be presented during the College’s Commencement ceremony on May 23, 2024 at the Cape Cod Melody Tent.

IRS Certified students in Cape Cod Community College’s Accounting program will be available to help taxpayers file their 2023 returns for free this season. Hosted through the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, the College will have hours of operation available by appointment only every Tuesday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. through the April 15, 2024 tax filing deadline.

This February vacation, in celebration of National Children’s Dental Health Month, the Wilkens Family Dental Hygiene Clinic at Cape Cod Community College will provide free examinations and cleanings for children ages 3 through 17.

With a sense of humility and commitment, Cape Cod Community College has joined 168 other community colleges, universities, and institutions across the United States in signing an amicus brief in support of an appeal in Texas v. United States, the case involving the legality of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

As local high school students and their families prepare for “what’s next” when their academic year finishes up, Cape Cod Community College (“4Cs”) will be holding three Admissions Information Sessions designed to help them navigate their next steps. Each session is designed for parents, guardians, and high school students in grades 9-12 and will cover everything they need to know about starting at 4Cs for the Fall 2024 semester or beyond.

Cape Cod Community College (“4Cs”) in Massachusetts has become the first community college in the United States to officially adopt the “Okanagan Charter,” an international statement of commitment to promote health and wellbeing in all aspects of the College community. Created in 2015, the Charter provides institutions of higher education worldwide with common language, principles, and framework to become “health and wellbeing” promoting campuses. Thanks to the leadership of Dr. Maura Weir, Chief Wellness Officer for Cape Cod Community College, the Charter was adopted officially on Tuesday, January 10 as the College kicked off “Mental Wellness Month.”

The Project Forward program at Cape Cod Community College will be hosting their annual “Holiday Pop-Up Market” on their West Barnstable campus on Thursday, December 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The market will be set up in the College’s Grossman Commons building and will feature homemade crafts, gifts, and baked goods prepared by students in their Retail and Art and Entrepreneurship area of the program.

Sponsored by the College’s Military and Veterans Services department, led by Paula Smith, USA, LTC (Ret.), the events will invite students, faculty, staff, students, and community members to recognize those who have served.
